The painting is a sort of "Documentary" showing all the actions necessary to harvest a field, including supervision.

I have been wondering if I can cut-n-paste his figures to make up illustrations for The Saga, but the costume is a bit too early to be properly representative even in such a fashion backwater as Mardlingham.
